Why This Site?

As the founder of the Photoshop and Lightroom tutorial site TipSquirrel.com I have found a love for writing and recording tutorials.

My interest in image editing has extended to mobile devices and although I have incorporated this into my writing I felt the time had come for it to have a site of it’s own. The aim here is to avoid desk top computing and to use mobile devices, iPad, mobile phone and cloud based storage such as Dropbox or my favourite, Copy.

Teaching

Although teaching wasn’t something I’d considered previously I applied to be a Lecturer at Peterborough’s Media and Journalism Centre and started working there in 2011. Subjects I’ve taught include; Photography, Editing, Music Video Production, Single Camera Production and Ident Design.

Since starting to teach I’ve completed the teaching qualifications; Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) and Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS).

Camera Clubs

My work at TipSquirrel, my new found love of teaching and with some encouragement from fellow ‘Nuts’ I started to talk about Photoshop at camera clubs. I really enjoy these events and pride myself on receiving such positive feedback, and repeat bookings!
